Beia Carvalho tem experiência para falar sobre as diferentes gerações que hoje se encontram na sociedade. Formada em Publicidade e Propaganda pela Escola de Comunicação e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo (ECA/USP), realiza palestras futuristas voltadas à inovação no mercado de trabalho e utiliza seu bom humor para inspirar pessoas e mostrar que o futuro e as diferenças entre as gerações são positivas, é só observá-las da maneira correta.
As novíssimas gerações serão interplanetárias! Pense nisso.
Ela diz: “É justamente com a convivência das cinco gerações no mercado de trabalho que observamos a mistura e os conflitos, mas é aí que podemos obter vantagens para todos. Esse encontro de gerações soma habilidades e experiências, e quanto mais cedo acordarmos para esse fato, mais cedo colheremos produtividade e inovação”.
Estamos divididos e classificados, todos de acordo com a data de nascimento. Possuímos, contudo, histórias próprias, cargas individuais que nos tornam únicos, daí o questionamento: essa separação não generaliza um bloco de pessoas?

Beia esclarece: “Quando a gente divide 7 bilhões de pessoas em cinco gerações (seis no ambiente escolar), estamos fazendo uma generalização absurda. Mas essa generalização, mesmo que soe contraditória, tem seus benefícios. Com ela podemos entender os grandes movimentos do mundo, a Segunda Guerra Mundial, a Guerra do Vietnã, a falta de água, o surgimento da internet, a inteligência artificial, as lutas feministas, entre outros fatos. Todos esses acontecimentos afetam de forma diferente cada uma dessas gerações, determinando seu comportamento geracional”.
Não podemos negar, então, que saber a que grupo pertencemos nos traz certo conforto. Entendemos, com isso, adversidades a que somos submetidos ao longo da vida, como escassez, divergências econômicas ou políticas, até mesmo sociais. “Posso assegurar que as pessoas se sentem empoderadas ao conhecer os comportamentos de suas gerações, a de seus clientes, seus chefes, seus pais e filhos. Muita gente passa a compreender que certo comportamento não é individual, e sim fruto da reação daquela geração diante dos desafios que ela enfrentou”, afirma Beia. “Alguém que viveu uma experiência de guerra não aceita desperdício de comida, assim como alguém que nasceu com um celular na mão não pergunta regras de joguinhos. E ao final de cada palestra eu ouço: ‘Ah! Agora entendo meu filho, colega de trabalho ou meu chefe’”.
Precisamos, além de tudo, entender o cotidiano. Conhecer as gerações ajuda e muito a explorar o melhor e atingir habilidades novas. Segundo a publicitária, quanto mais nos aprofundarmos nos estudos das novas gerações, principalmente as novíssimas Z e A, mais podemos inferir no futuro.
“Essas gerações são aquelas que acharão ‘normal’ robôs inteligentes, alimentos impressos em 3D, terapias por edição de códigos genéticos, viagens interplanetárias… Para que uma geração conviva com mudanças drásticas como essas, ela precisa de indivíduos que pensem o mundo de maneira muito diferente que nós pensamos. De outra forma, ficariam paralisados diante de tanta inovação!”
E onde está a limitação? Está exatamente no velho preconceito. A tão desejada produtividade que almejam as grandes empresas pode sofrer impasses, quando se deparam com essa nova geração não linear. Para essa nova gama de profissionais, as coisas seguem em cursos diversos, não se guiando exatamente por um protocolo ou uma linha de alcance. E por que conhecer essa geração entre as outras tantas é importante para o mercado de negócios? Para a criação de produtos, as empresas utilizam bases de adequação do produto final aos costumes, à idade, aos gostos, entre outros fatores que auxiliam na composição geral. Como essa geração não entra nesse tipo de característica padrão, para obter sucesso nos negócios é preciso estudar mais a fundo quem são os atuais consumidores.
“O forte preconceito impede a análise da situação e diagnósticos, distorce julgamentos de comportamento e dificulta a colaboração e o compartilhamento de conhecimento, dois pontos-chaves para o aumento da produtividade e a práxis da inovação. No ambiente familiar vemos que é o preconceito que retarda o entendimento, provocando “divórcios geracionais”, dificultando também o que posso aprender com meu filho e o que posso abstrair ‘daquele moleque irritante do meu prédio’.”

Qual é a sua?
Geração X – De 1965 a 1980
Com uma característica mais neutra ou sem uma que a torne exclusiva entre as outras, passou pela tendência hippie e seguiu para carreiras profissionais – viu os computadores pessoais entrando pela porta e presenciou a descoberta da internet e celulares. Enfrentou bruscas mudanças de padrões e viu seus filhos crescerem em um mundo totalmente novo.
Geração Y (Millennials) – De 1981 a 1996 (22 a 37 anos, em 2018)
O avanço da tecnologia marca esse grupo. Essa geração pôde desfrutar de muitas coisas a que seus pais não tiveram acesso, como televisão a cabo, videogame e computadores. É a geração multitarefas, mas, ao mesmo tempo, por estar acostumada a ter tudo, não aceita trabalho como subalterna.
Geração Z – De 1997 a 2009 (9 a 21 anos, em 2018)
Nação digital é a definição de quem pertence a essa geração, totalmente envolvida com a era digital e toda essa “tecnologia”. O que para muitos é difícil eles têm como extensão do rotineiro. Ser um profissional bem-sucedido para esse grupo é muito relativo e uma questão que não tem uma só resposta. Não lineares, saem totalmente da rota convencional.
Geração A – De 2010 até o momento (abaixo de 9 anos)
Perennials – Não segue a regra de período. Esse grupo percebe a facilidade que a mobilidade lhe proporciona, então procura novos desafios e propostas para alcançar seus objetivos – e não pense que isso está relacionado à estabilidade profissional convencional atingida por longos anos no mesmo emprego. Eles quebram regras, extrapolam barreiras e vão atrás daquilo que os mantém vivos, ativos e funcionais.
A classificação Perennials é atribuída a Gina Pell, e quer dizer perene, algo resistente, ou até eterno. Essa geração nada tem a ver com as outras já predefinidas por idade. Ela transpassa esses “limites”, está livre de amarras ou rótulos que possam definir sua vida. Está mais ou menos entre a Y (Millennials) e um pouco da Z.
